What to Bring
If You’re Staying for the Weekend
- Soap and towels.
There are shower facilities at the park, so bring your bath stuff.
- Flashlights. The park is only lit around the main buildings.
- Bedding. Whether you are camping in a tent, or using the cabins, bring a bedroll.
- Wear comfortable shoes and avoid high, pointed heels.
The Hall, where the ceremony will be held, has a smooth concrete floor, but outside is mostly grass, dirt paths and gravel.
- Rain Gear. Since it’s still early in the year, this may be your opportunity to bring out the
umbrellas and rain jackets. The actual wedding ceremony will be held indoors, but we’ve
rented the whole park, which includes wooded paths, riverfront along the
Santiam, children’s play equipment, a large fire pit, and basketball court.
- Three meals a day will be provided at no charge. However, you may wish to bring
your own favorite snacks for between meals.
For those camping in tents...
Try to arrive during daylight so you can pick a good spot. There are many beautiful
places to choose from, including grassy meadows and darker woods. It’s much easier to
set up a campsite when you don’t have to rely on a flashlight.
Bring warm bedding and be prepared for rain.
Wool, feather down and flannel are good choices.
Bring a tarp for under the tent.
This keeps moisture in the ground from coming up through the floor, and it’s easier to clean grass, dust and mud off the tarp than the bottom
of your tent.
For those staying in cabins…
Bring a bedroll. There are four bunk beds with mattresses per cabin and you will need to
bring your own bedding.
Note: We are keeping married couples and families together in the cabins. Everyone else is
segregated by gender.
If you are bringing an RV,
there are electric and water hookups available. |
